The Slayer's Guide to Hobgoblins ebook
Bring the Hobgoblin race to life in the first of the Slayer's Guides! Towering over their smaller cousins the goblins and only a little shorter in stature than the largest goblinoid of all, the bugbear, the hobgoblins are a martial race, dedicated to warfare.
The goblinoid races of goblins, hobgoblins and bugbears have been a staple fodder for player characters since the dawn of role-playing. Individually they are often seen as weak and dungeon masters are eminently willing to use them in large hordes, the better to challenge the player characters. So called heroes have slaughtered millions of the wretched creatures over the years on their way to tackling more deadly monsters, gaining the rewards that come from fame and victory.
This is all about to change. Goblinoids have their own perspective of the world, their own society, beliefs and desires. Their purpose is not to simply populate the nearest ruin or cavern, awaiting the next party of adventurers to find them. These races have their own plans and motives – and woe betide any civilisation if such ambitions are ever realised.
Towering over their smaller cousins the goblins and only a little shorter in stature than the largest goblinoid of all, the bugbear, the hobgoblins are a martial race, dedicated to warfare. Eschewing many of the traits found in the other goblinoid species, the hobgoblins adopt many military characteristics of the civilised races and this alone can make them exceptionally dangerous. Coupled with a hatred of any race but their own and the ability to bully large numbers of orcs and goblins into coherent fighting forces, hobgoblins represent a threat to all intelligent life when they move into a new area.
Far from being just another critter for adventurers to hack apart whilst in some underground dungeon, you will soon discover why hobgoblins truly are dangerous.
