Vau Strider Destroyer

The largest Vau ship yet seen by the fleets of Known Space, the Strider may only be a destroyer in size but, in capability, it can rival some cruisers. Its meson blast, even when used on low-level settings, is one of the most powerful weapons mounted on any ship and, when directly fuelled by the quantum sphere, has no equal. The Strider's hull provides unparalleled protection and the mere presence of this ship in a Vau fleet seems to co-ordinate all others to an unheard of level.

This is possibly the most dangerous ship of any fleet, and its presence does not bode well for speculation that the Vau possess far larger vessels.
