Just wondering, as I heard the dreadful legend of the rangers mentioned, what is the worst sci fi ever. Lexx springs to mind, but it at least had one redeeming feature, and was no where near as painful as Legend of the rangers. Andromeda looked incredibly cheap a lot of the time, but wasn't too bad, I hated blakes seven as very very tacky, but just what would you say was the worst ever sci fi show? or movie?

The movie 'Slipstream' was very sucky, in fact a lot the the american cyberpunk cheap budget movies from the 80's and 90's sucked too!

I'm just glad I received legends of the rangers as a present. I could stand spending cash on it.

I'm not worried its a subtle comment from the giver of the present- it was from my parents who really don't grok scifi... Wink

Blake's 7 came about as close to being a political thriller as television SF really could; if all that you were watching it for was the effects, (and the space vampires), you were missing the point. Lexx outwore it's welcome at times, with characters who never learned from their mistakes, but it's twisted sense of humour usually saw it through.

I take it we are talking about TV, or at least miniseries, here, and tried-and-failed rather than cheap and cheerful? Something that actually aimed for respectability and didn't make it. Otherweise the candidates are too numerous to mention. Even with that caveat, they're probably still too numerous.

You dare to question the greatness of Blake's 7?? Shocked Its one of the best, even if the effects were awful (think original Star Trek).

What about Star Cops, Space Precint (if that counts as Sci-fi)?

I had forgotten about the aweful star cops, eugh

I just thought blakes seven was amazingly tacky, even taking into account the budget of 5 shillings.

Not denying the tackiness of the effects, but the story was good - it helps that I saw it as a 7-10 year old, so the flashy lights probably blinded me to the worse points of cinematography!

If we want to bring movies into this, go check out the "Lost Skeleton of Cadavera".

I can't watch that movie. It is physically painfully to me at this point. Worst sci-fi movie ever.
