Denizens of the Cursed Earth

The atomic wars gave rise to a new breed of desperadoes and mutated humans, and they now infest the Cursed Earth like a disease. Just being a mutant is illegal in Mega-City One, with mutants deported into the Cursed Earth on a daily basis – that does not stop them trying to break back into the city, hoping to escape the hellish wasteland. Most mutants have strong physical deformities that do not otherwise hinder or aid their day to day lives. However, about one in ten have serious mutations that greatly change the way they perceive or interact with the world.
